Since its inception in 1985, the International Tourism Exhibition Philoxenia – Hotelia has been shaping the landscape of tourism entrepreneurship in the country, establishing a robust exhibition brand that resonates both domestically and internationally.

The Exhibition is organized annually every November at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition & Conference Center. The first two days are exclusively aimed at Greek and foreign trade visitors, while on the third day, it opens its doors to the interested public who wish to plan their holidays in advance.

Held annually in November at the International Exhibition & Congress Center of Thessaloniki, the event draws a diverse crowd of Greek and foreign commercial visitors, as well as members of the public interested in the tourism sector.

The Hosted Buyers Program

Philoxenia’s well-organized and targeted b2b hosted buyers’ program is hosting over 100 renowned tourism professionals in its annual event. Through the scheduled meetings, the exhibitors on the first two days of the event, can display and promote their services and products in foreign target markets.

The hosted buyers’ program is a result of the international connections and collaborations of HELEXPO, which is under the supervision of the Institute of Exhibition Research as well as under the auspices of the HELLENIC TOURISM ORGANIZATION.

Accepted Hosted Buyers will be offered the following services:

• Air ticket (economy class) from the country of origin to Thessaloniki and back
• Hotel accommodation in a 4* or 5* hotel
• Daily transfer from the hotel to the fairgrounds and back
• Free entrance badge
• Pre-arranged B2B meetings via a state-of-the-art software program
• Bag with information material and memorabilia
• Lounge access (coffee break, light lunch etc.)
• Cocktail parties (if offered by sponsors)
• City Tour
• Free Wi-Fi access at the Fairgrounds
• Secretarial assistance throughout the exhibition

Hosted Buyers Obligations:

• Up to 35 pre-arranged B2B meetings organized during the first 2 days of PHILOXENIA.
• The B2B meetings are selected by both the Hosted Buyers themselves & the Exhibitors – all the meetings (either selected by the Hosted Buyers or by the Exhibitors) are obligatory and according to the time schedules set by HELEXPO.
• Deadlines: all the deadlines (e.g. for requested documents, such as copy of passport, ticket confirmation, selection of meetings, etc.) must be strictly followed. Otherwise, the participation in the program will automatically be cancelled.
• The Terms & Conditions for Hosted Buyers must be respected by all participants.

Finally, please note: 

In case any additional costs come up during your stay in Thessaloniki, HELEXPO shall not be responsible for covering these costs, which may include mini bar consumption, upgrading or change of air ticket, transfer costs (taxi) in case the arranged transportation (by HELEXPO) is missed or ignored by the Hosted Buyer.

In case of flight cancellation, due to weather conditions or other reasons not depending on HELEXPO, all Hosted Buyers must inform HELEXPO of these changes on time and contact the relevant air transport company directly. 

Useful Info for Hosted Buyers:

• Only one person per company can be accepted as a hosted buyer.
• Travel will be arranged on dates suitable for attendance at the Exhibition only to & from Thessaloniki, where PHILOXENIA takes place (+/- one day before/after the exhibition).
• A questionnaire for ISO procedures must be filled in.
